I will confess that Baylor makes me very nervous against Texas. Texas won both meetings this season, but here are the scores: 84-79 and 68-67. That fact, combined with Baylor's lights-out shooting against Missouri last night, Texas' at-times, um, relaxed defense around the perimeter, and Durant's ankle's uncertain state (twice this season, he's sprained ankles badly enough to cause him to have to sit), give me pause in advance of tonight's game.
I watched K-State dismantle a pretty good Texas Tech team today. Kansas had better be ready to play tomorrow, is all I have to say about that.
I didn't know the scores were so close in the previous games. I'm looking for Durant to dismantle Baylor. Bruce is very good for Baylor, but he can't match Durant. Then there's Augustin to be dealt with as well.
It seems like the Texas teams play each other close because of the rivalry factor...that said, I can't see Baylor pulling off consecutive hot shooting nights. They're just not that good.
Your humility is admirable, though. Did you fill out a bracket?
No, no brackets for the Big XII. I will for the NCAAs though.
I see we were both right about the Baylor/Texas game, Ariel. I'm of course pleased that Texas won, but it was not pleasing to see that, as Kevin Durant goes, so goes Texas.
Well. Let us hope that this is an aberration and not an omen.
