Yesterday I linked to the Washington Post article regarding "dark matter." And today the Washington Post linked to me. (Scroll down and check the "Who's Blogging?" box. Then note what blog heads it up.)
C'mon, man, you say. Get over yourself. These blog links are totally automated. It's not like the Washington Post searches through the blogosphere and hand-picks the best Indie-blogs out there to feature on their site. None of which I deny.
But still.

Woo hoo! You're famous! I hope you won't forget the little people.
Very cool.
Nice of them to return the favor. ;)
I linked to them some weeks ago and was amazed to see them link back to me.
It's great marketing. Every blogger likes to be linked to and they provide a great way to get a couple of extra readers dropping in.
Evangelism through linkage. Maybe some cynical media type might take note.
"Woo hoo! You're famous!"
Indie-blogs don't get famous, Paula. They only get more infamous. ;)
I think the Washington Post has a pretty good passive strategy in place here. In effect, they're recruiting bloggers to comment on their articles, which will, in turn, bring in more readers...
Wonder which other news sites have this in place.
