Starting on September 1, Christian artist Derek Webb will be giving away his latest album, Mockingbird, for free. Why is he doing this? Apparently he thinks it will promote conversation and reflection, which is especially important for a singer/activist like Webb.
You can sign up here, or just hit up the site on September 1. If you're new to Derek Webb, here's a sentence description: Musically talented, theologically engaged, politically involved, and most definitely provocative. I haven't heard this particular CD as of yet.

Thanks for the info. I posted it over on clusterflock and give you the ole' hat tip.
Maybe in a couple weeks, once the CD gets out, we can all sit around and blog about Mockingbird. From what I've heard from some friends, it could spark some good discussion.
I could get behind that.
It's a great album musically. All his albums are. He is provocative in his lyrics. He writes a lot about legalism and pacificism in this album, condemning the former, condoning the latter. Worth the listen. I would definitely like to read a "Webb" of discussion about this album.

Pacifism, eh. Guess I'll withhold judgment for the time being...
