Woot! Woot! In a big upset, previously undefeated, #1-ranked North Carolina just lost to Maryland at Chapel Hill (82-20)! It's really too bad that Roy Williams had to experience that.
Secondarily, #4 UCLA was just upset by USC (a team KU beat handily a few weeks ago).
Thirdly, after the Jayhawks beat Missouri in Columbia tonight, their claim on the #1 spot in the nation is going to be hard to contest. Especially since the Big 12 may just be emerging as the nation's toughest conference, while Conference USA, where #2 Memphis hangs out, is a cakewalk. An hour ago, K-State beat #10 Texas A&M by 21--which means that the Jayhawks will be facing plenty of top-caliber opponents in their own conference.
Hoops forecast in Kansas City: Bright and sunny with increasing temperatures.

I concede the point. Now if you'll excuse me, I must reach for the airsickness bag, pinched from Delta Airlines, a few years ago.
ERRRRP.
Heh heh. As always, you are diplomatic, even in a loss.
The Tigers put up quite a fight--from what I heard on the radio, it was a tough, physical game--and six points closer than I thought it would be.
