John Piper & Jars of Clay - Free

Coming on the heels of Derek Webb's CD give-away are freebies from a couple of my favorites: John Piper and Jars of Clay. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is giving away copies of Piper's Don't Waste Your Life - which I've read and highly recommend.

And AOL has made Good Monsters, the newest album by Jars of Clay, available as streaming audio. According to the first review I've read, this CD "could be their best yet" (which is the thing that reviewers always say, but with a band as consistently good as the Jars, it could be true).

I don't think Derek Webb had any direct influence here, but if he did, it would be enough to make you a life-time fan.

Thanks to Challies Dot Com for the heads up.

First, I apologize if this gets posted twice. Blogger is begin weird with the beta stuff. Doesn't like comments very much.

At any rate, ordered the Piper book. After reading your post I put it on the back burner. Then 2 people mentioned on my blog which had nothing to do with your post. So I feel like God is prompting me to read it.

Great, Kevin. I think you'll enjoy it. I'd characterize Don't Waste Your Life as challenging, accessible, and (ideally) action-provoking.

Judging from the streaming music, this CD is tight. Typically flawless production, several genres utilized, nice hooks.
