2008-2009 Big 12 Basketball Rankings

Nice to see some speculation starting to make the rounds regarding the upcoming Big 12 basketball season. KUSports.com has Oklahoma and Texas at the top, and I agree. Baylor will also be a very dangerous team, albeit not overly strong inside. The Jayhawks, who have the #2 recruiting class in the nation, will start the season with a boatload of unproven talent. They could still make a run at the title, though.

I agree with their Mizzou assessment, as well. I think Anderson is a good coach but he's about two "carry the team on his shoulders for thirty minutes when everybody else is shooting blanks" guys.

Alas, it's the age old question: Which comes first, success on the court or success in recruiting?

    Cheers.

  2. I hate to admit this, but MU has my pity right now. Anderson is a stand-up guy who I still think will turn the program around within a few years. IMO, good recruits comes first...and you don't necessarily have to have a whole lineup of blue-chippers to change the team culture, just coachable guys who come to play.
