Lars Walker comments on the banality of evil and the banality of the Virginia Tech killer who couldn't even come up with an original ending to his life story.
There are heroes and there are villains. Hollywood gets them confused, but there is no arguing which of the two is passe, monotonous, even morally "staid." To live creatively, to go against the trends, one must find virtue. To find virtue, one must find Christ.
Agree, except for the last sentence. Keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, there are numerous Buddhists, Hindus, New Agers, etc., who are pleasant to be around and live morally commendable lives.
In the biblical sense, though, we are forced to assert that you can't get good fruit from a bad tree. Without Christ's inner work, all virtuous acts still have cancerous roots.
Of course, I didn't specify in the post in what sense I was talking about "virtue." So maybe we don't disagree?
